There are two things that we never seem to have enough
of: time and money. And to save both, you have to be proactive. Here are
10 ways to help you become more frugal and efficient in your daily life.
1. Meal Plan.
Meal planning has helped save me money because I buy exactly what I need for each recipe, so there’s no waste. It also saves me time since I’ll buy everything I’ll need in one trip and I won’t have to make any extra trips to the store.
2. Use Apps to Save on Groceries
Apps are great resources to save both time and money. Some of the apps that I use help you by comparing all the local store ads and send you links to coupons that combine with the sales already going on. Some of my favorite apps to save on groceries are Ibotta, Favado and SavingStar.
3. Keep a Stocked Pantry.
When you decide you want to save money on your grocery bill, one of the most important things to do, is to create your own stockpile. Getting items on sale or free now will save you massive amounts of money later on.
4. Buy at Bulk Food Stores.
For my bulk shopping, I shop at club stores like Sam’s Club and Costco. Buying in bulk helps me stock my pantry with non-perishable items we use regularly. Just be sure that when you shop bulk, that it's something that you will use and that you are actually getting a good deal according to your needs.
5. Get Paid Cash Back For Online Purchases.
To save time, I prefer to shop online and a site called Ebates offers even more of an incentive to shop online by allowing you to earn a certain percentage cash back on online purchases.
6. Use FREE Printable Grocery Coupons.
One of the biggest time savers for couponers are FREE Printable Grocery Coupons. The days of clipping coupons is gone, so there's no more wasting time guessing which ones you may use only for them to sit around and expire. Now, right after you create your grocery list, you can print the coupons you need right before heading out.
7. Participate in Loyalty Programs.
By participating in a store’s loyalty program, you will have the opportunity to receive exclusive coupons, invitations to private sales and more. Some of the stores that I have signed up for are JCPenney, Gap and Target. I can take advantage of sales because I am notified immediately and I don’t have to take time to search for deals.
8. Amazon Prime & Amazon Mom
I use Amazon in a variety of ways to save time and money. One way that I save a lot is by ordering some of our dry foods in bulk using Amazon’s Prime Pantry. The Amazon Prime Pantry is only available to Amazon Prime members. This feature allows you to get amazing deals on several food products and charges a very low shipping amount to deliver the food right to your door. I have found that most of the prices on the items I buy are cheaper on Amazon than locally which makes it even better. I also utilize Amazon Mom to save on a plethora of things for my household. I've used it for diapers and wipes as well as clothing and many other offerings Amazon has specifically for Amazon Mom members. These three programs have saved me countless hours and huge savings over time.
9. Use Bill Pay
Mailing bill payments can get quite pricey, especially considering the number of bills we pay each month. A better option is to ask your bank about their bill pay service.
10. Search Online to Compare Prices.
I’m sure most of you search online, but did you know that you can earn rewards from Swagbucks from online activities like doing searches. A win-win situation by saving money on gas and time by comparing prices online and being rewarded for it.
