Fall Fingerprint Tree

We're getting ready for the fall weather. One of our favorite activities at this time of year is going on hikes as a family and admiring the beautiful colors of the leaves on the trees. We took one of our hikes this past weekend, and I couldn't take enough pictures and my children couldn't jump in enough leaves that fell from the trees. Our trip inspired this craft today. We wanted to recreate the beauty that we were able to enjoy. First, we painted the trunk of the tree. Then my kids dipped their fingers in autumn colors like green, red, orange, yellow and brown and created the leaves for this beautiful tree. And, of course they couldn't forget about all the leaves that fall to the ground, like the ones that they were jumping and playing in this past weekend. I took this opportunity to explain how the leaves change colors each season. It turned out to be a fun and educational activity.

What are some of your favorite activities to do this time of year? I'd love to hear them.
